Crusader coins are Challenge coins – Seymour Hersh

As part of Hersh’s largely cryptic attack on JSOC – the US military command in Iraq – he cited as evidence of Christian fundamentalist activity among the generals, the circulation of what he termed coins with crusader insignia.   Blogging in the Washington Post, Hersh critic Blake Hounshell says these are actually the widely circulating ‘challenge coins‘ and have no sinister significance.

I’m happy to hear more about these challenge coins.
