It’s spelt Capharnaum by the authorities in Israel but I always grew up knowing it as Caperneum – choose which you prefer! But the ruins of the town where Jesus grew up is now preserved behind a wall and includes a Byzantine era synagogue and a house under glass which is claimed to be the home of Simon Peter.
Really beautiful place and I captured some pilgrims there having their photo taken next to the statue of Simon Peter…as well as snapping the synagogue.
